A First Date

It was just supposed to be a simple movie date.

A casual outing.

Some cheeky snuggles in the dark cinema, some roaming hands, and maybe a kiss at the end.

But, this was the first date that changed everything.

We were walking down the busy street, searching for a bar to quench our thirst as we killed time before the movie. It was a balmy night and the city was alive - the sound of the traffic and chatter of people having a drink after work filled the air. I was chatty and excited - a bit like a teenager out with her girlfriends. I was feeling playful and curious, perhaps even a little mischievous as I fantasised about the things we could get up to in the cinema.

As we walked, I thought I’d be bold and grab his hand - show him I wasn’t shy and knew what I wanted. However, the moment I took his hand in mine, everything shifted.
