A Night In Paradise

It started as a night like any other in this tropical paradise - my sister and I, dressed in denim shorts and loose tees, letting the warm humid air kiss our bare skin as we wandered into a lively little bar. The scent of salt, rum, and sweat lingered in the air, the distant rumbling of cars blending into the hum of music and conversation. We ordered cocktails, something fruity and strong, and found a table where we could people-watch and let the night unfold.
We had already had a couple of cheeky drinks at lunch, but the atmosphere was inviting our more devilish sides. We talked about the things we missed - the thrill of an unexpected kiss, the way a stranger’s hands could feel so intoxicatingly new. We laughed, teasing each other about who might end up doing something reckless tonight. My sister was more reserved, cautious. But me? I was already buzzing, feeling the electricity in the air, the pull of something I couldn’t yet name.
And then I saw him.
